The Redefined Student Ministry is a middle school and high school youth group for teenagers from all over the Elgin area. They meet every Friday night from 6:30 to 9:30 pm for worship, teaching, prayer, games, pizza, and general hanging out.
Visit the Redefined Student Ministry website, or connect on social, to get all the details and latest information.
Youth Group Events
In addition to Friday nights, Redefined hosts several events throughout the year—some at our building in Elgin, and some off-site. Here are a few of the favorites that have become annuals:
Winter Waterpark Pilgrimage — Every January/February, they journey north to escape winter and spend a day at the largest indoor waterpark in Wisconsin.
State Line Bike Ride — In June the youth group pedals from our parking lot to the Illinois/Wisconsin state line. They camp overnight and ride back the next day.
Love Packages Missions Trip — Except for summers that take them overseas, the teenagers spend a week of their summer volunteering with Love Packages in central Illinois.
Fall Fiesta — Redefined hosts a fall kick-off at our place in September, nearest to Mexico’s Independence Day. Mexican fare and a piñata are part of the festivities.
Other events sometimes include WhirlyBall tournaments, Christmas formals, and more. Check out their site or their Facebook page for details and dates!
Our youth ministry leadership is passionate about helping middle school and high school students encounter the transforming love and the power of God. We don’t believe that teenagers are the Church of tomorrow—they’re the Church today.
Friday nights at Church In The Word are fun and engaging (and sometimes ridiculous), but we also take seriously the commission to train and equip our young people in their faith.
